My painting in a restaurant
What a joy it was to find out that one of my paintings sold to a local restaurant!
I painted it 1.5 years ago for a newspaper exposé highlighting a gallery's social event corresponding with The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art's Martini's and Music event.
It was requested that I paint a large, brightly colorful martini. I had previously painted many smaller ones in the same genre so this was right up my alley. However, I had never painted one so large.
It was fun...gestural...and with lots of thick impasto paint, that I love!
Well, fast forward 1.5 years and Mac's Chophouse took over the old Shilling's on the Square when it closed after 41 years in operation. After a total overhaul, but keeping touches of the building's past, Mac's Chophouse opened in June, 2020.
To say the least, it's beautiful and the lunch I ate was awesome. I'd highly recommend eating there and when you do, by all means, GO UPSTAIRS and see my painting and other great local art hanging on the walls.
