Laurie Henry, a Georgia based fine artist, is known for bright expressions of color in her abstract and contemporary paintings of seascapes and landscapes. Her love of the ocean and birds is her main focus but she dabbles in many subject matters to keep her creative juices flowing and to alleviate boredom.
Laurie has studied oil and acrylic painting with professional artists and through workshops. She enjoys painting many different subjects, but she has a fond connection with painting water and boats.
Laurie was a Navy brat, born in Florida, spending a lot of time around the ocean living in Jacksonville and Key West before moving to Georgia.
Laurie paints in her studio at The Artisan Resource Center in Marietta, Georgia.
Outside of work, Laurie enjoys spending time with her husband, two adult children, and three dogs - two golden retrievers (Hilo and Copper) and one rescue (Nora).
