Canvas Print Framing Tutorial
Updated: Oct 21
I am now offering prints of select original paintings! The beauty of these prints is that they can be framed with or without glass. In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to frame it without a mat and glass!
I will be framing an 11x14 print but this concept applies to any size and in any frame. Let’s get started!
What you need:
Standard frame from Amazon, IKEA, Michael's (or any other favorite place that offers frames). Here's a link to a frame I found on Amazon for my 24"x 24" limited edition canvas print, "Wine Down", which includes all the hanging hardware.
Scissors
Acid free tape (for framing with a mat)
Double sided acid free tape (framing without a mat)
Flat head screw driver (Optional: to bend tabs on the back of the frame)

Framing your giclee without a mat and without glass:
Remove the glass from the frame. Since we are not using a mat, you will tape the print directly to the frame backer. Cut your double sided tape and apply it all around the edges of the frame backer. Once you have them all placed, peel the paper backing from the tape. Line up the print to the frame backer and then with clean hands, apply pressure around the edges to secure the print to the frame backer. Once secure, pop it back into the frame and enjoy your beautiful newly framed print!

Cut tape.

Place the tape on the frame backer board.

Peel off paper.

Line up your print, carefully.

Start at the top and
Press edges down.

Pop back in the frame.

Beautifully framed art!
Now that your artwork is beautifully framed, I would love to see it!
